Frequently Asked Questions

Your First Visit

On your first visit we will; have a conversation to understand your needs and history, assess your movement and mobility, provide treatment, offer advice and lodge an ACC claim if required.

Safety

Your safety is paramount. We take a thorough case history, check for red flags indicating the need for more urgent medical or specialist attention, provide careful diagnosis and treatment, maintain clean facilities and will organise medical/specialist/imaging referral if required.

COVID-19

Please use the COVID-tracer APP and sanitise your hands upon entering and leaving the clinic.

We hold a strict policy that no-one may enter the clinic if unwell and maintain a high level of hygiene.

We follow the latest COVID-19 guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Osteopathic Council of New Zealand, promoting contact tracing as well as physical distancing and PPE use when required.

We thoroughly disinfect the treatment space and provide fresh linens for each patient.

Booking and Contact

No referral is required. The easiest way to book is through our online system via the “book now” button. Alternatively, you may email, text or call to arrange a time or get in touch. Emails and texts generally receive the quickest replies. Available appointments can be viewed via the online booking system.

If you cannot find a suitable time, or require an urgent appointment please get in contact so that we can accommodate you. Please note that patients under 16 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the duration of each appointment.

Fees and ACC

The cost per consult is $95, which is reduced to $63 with ACC. Southern Cross health insurance offers policies which cover Osteopathy. If you have had an accident or sudden injury, an ACC claim can be lodged during your appointment. Appointments are approximately 30 minutes in duration.

Changing or Cancelling Your Appointment

We value your time and we strive to help as many people as we can. To allow time to fill the space from our waitlist, we require at least 4 hours notice for changes or cancellations. To change or cancel your appointment, please contact us via email, text or phone – or do it directly on our online booking system. We appreciate as much notice as possible. We understand that life can be unpredictable, however those who repeatedly cancel with less than 4 hours notice or miss appointments without prior communication will be invoiced for the full rate of $95 via email.

Parking, Access and Entry

Easy parking is available on or off street. The main entrance is through the door on the side of building. If required, there is a mobility access ramp to the rear further down the driveway – please let us know if you need to enter the clinic this way.

What to Wear and Bring

We can work around your business attire in most cases, but ideally you should wear the same type clothing you would feel comfortable exercising in. Please bring any relevant documents to this appointment (ACC claims, reports, imaging). Upon arrival, there will be a short initial intake form available to complete, please allow 5 minutes for this. The initial consultation will consist of a more in-depth review of your health and injury history followed by assessment and treatment.

After Your Appointment

In most cases, you will need a follow-up appointment in approximately 7 days. Over the next 24-72 hours, your body will process and integrate the changes made during the appointment. It’s not uncommon for your body to feel achy or unsettled in this time. For this reason, you should avoid vigorous activity/stretching, using heat or having other treatments within 24 hours.
